Young Lives Vs Cancer
The Ormeau Labs community came together for an incredible day of movement, fundraising and teamwork as we took on our Moveathon in support of Young Lives vs Cancer.
The challenge was inspired by an important statistic: the average distance a young person with cancer and their family travels to access treatment in just one month is 350 miles.
To help raise awareness of the journeys families face during cancer treatment, we challenged our community to collectively travel 350 miles in just one day using exercise machines provided by HENCH and PureGym.
And our community went even further.
By the end of the day, we had travelled an incredible 383 miles, smashing our original target and making every mile count for an important cause.
A huge community effort
Throughout the day, members jumped on the machines, clocked up the miles, encouraged one another and helped keep the challenge moving.
A special shoutout goes to Cormac Darby from Tiedot, who put in an incredible effort, cycling more than 30km throughout the day.
We also want to congratulate some of our community members who clocked up some of the highest distances during the challenge:
Andrew Carnaghan – Daysix
Jack Morrow – Daysix
Kevin O'Shea – INCISIV
Claire Armstrong – Barclays Eagle Labs
Cormac Darby – Tiedot
From everyone who jumped on a machine to those who donated, cheered from the sidelines and helped make the day happen, it was a brilliant example of what the Ormeau Labs community can achieve when we come together.
Supporting Young Lives vs Cancer
Young Lives vs Cancer provides vital support to children and young people with cancer, as well as their families, helping them navigate the practical, emotional and financial challenges that can come with a cancer diagnosis.
We’re incredibly proud to have supported their work through our Moveathon and grateful to everyone who helped us reach and surpass our 350 mile goal.
There’s still time to support the challenge and donate to Young Lives vs Cancer.
