Ormeau Labs Celebrates Living Wage Accreditation

Ormeau Labs is proud to announce its accreditation as a Living Wage Employer, reinforcing its commitment to fair pay and better working standards for all employees.

As part of this commitment, every member of the Ormeau Labs team will now earn a minimum hourly wage of £12.60—significantly higher than the current government minimum for over-21s, which stands at £12.21. This move aligns with the real Living Wage, the only UK wage rate independently calculated based on the actual cost of living.

Ormeau Labs operates in Northern Ireland, the UK region with the highest rate of low pay, where 20.6% of jobs—approximately 224,000—pay less than the real Living Wage. Despite these statistics, Ormeau Labs is taking a stand by ensuring that every employee earns a wage that meets everyday needs, not just the legal minimum.

At Ormeau Labs, we believe in paying a real Living Wage because when our people thrive, our business and community thrive too.

We’re delighted that Ormeau Labs has joined the movement of over 16,000 responsible employers across the UK who voluntarily commit to go further than the government minimum to make sure all their staff earn enough to live on.
