Name and Role:

Max Wilkinson Content Developer at Ormeau Baths

Describe yourself in 50 words

I'd describe myself as passionate, I put my all into each piece of work I create. My mind is full of ideas zooming around and incubating until I am able to bring them to fruition as I have envisioned them. I strive to create entertaining content that is of high technical quality.

What excites you most about your role at Ormeau Baths?

The creative freedom to create work as I see fit, being given a brief for a piece of media and having the permission to develop the idea further. I am immensely excited to get stuck into each new project on my To-Do list. I feel privileged that it is my responsibility and hope to bring new and exciting content that depicts the friendly, hardworking and progressive nature of the Ormeau baths.

What’s the biggest lesson you’ve learned in 2021?

The biggest lesson I’ve learnt this year is believing. Believing in yourself Is something I see as a task that I’m working towards but with the help and support of my peers I think self-belief is an attribute I will hopefully start to feel naturally.

What habits have helped you to stay positive throughout lockdown/pandemic?

Throughout the pandemic I have found myself, on many occasions, stressed to the max. Not able to concentrate on the things that matter and a feeling of being lost. I hadn’t realised I had habits and ways to reset my brain and take a step back from it all, but I now see I do. Any time I feel overwhelmed or overly stressed, me and my girlfriend will go camping. Phones Off. Tent up. Steaks cooking on the fire. I’ve always found relaxation in forests or in the country. It allows me to have a breather and when I return home, I am able to prioritise the things in my life and continue to work towards my goals. Stress throughout life is inevitable, finding what helps you relax is a game changer.

If you could pick up a new skill in an instant, what would it be?

If I could learn a new skill in an instant, I think I’d choose something mundane. I enjoy the learning and the trial and error of teaching yourself a new skill, I wouldn’t want to skip that process. I think pitching ideas would be the skill I’d choose, being clearer and directly to the point. I also speak too fast when I’m excited and end up jumbling up words as I speak which results in getting flustered and embarrassed.

What are you looking forward to in 2021?

I’m looking forward to this coming year as I will be able to throw myself into my work and take advantage of loads of new opportunity’s as we come out the other end of this pandemic. Spending more time with family and friends doing the things I enjoy. That’s what I’m excited for.
